Greg 'Miff' Smith

Greg  Smith is one of the most experienced Skydivers in Australia. Greg started Skydiving in 1977 after being talked into it at a party with friends. His passion for the sport, it's safety, advancement and people remains to this day. 

In 1986 Greg in conjunction with Gavin Northsworthy and  Kevin Taylor introduced The Accelerated Free fall Course to South Australia and in 1987 introduced Tandem skydiving.

Greg enjoys overseeing the progression of students and assisting the development of their skills over time. He also enjoys giving people the thrill of their life when taking them for their first Tandem or solo experience.

 

 

Kevin 'Digger' Taylor:

NUMBER OF JUMPS: 8000+

Over 25 years in the sport.

 

 

Kevin and Greg introduced Tandem skydiving and Accelerated Free Fall to South Australia in 1986-87.

With over 8000 jumps and over 25 years in the sport Kevin is one of the most experienced skydivers in Australia.

Kevin has competed successfully for Australia at World level on more than one occasion. 

 

 

Peter Anderson:

POSITION: Tandem Master  / A.F.F Instructor / Instructor B / Photographer

FIRST JUMP: 1993

NUMBER OF JUMPS: 6000

Over 19 years skydiving.

 

Peter is one of the finest instructors skydiving has to offer.

Peter consistently competes in formation skydiving at a National level as camera flyer and team member.

He remains up to date with all advancements in formation skydiving skills and techniques and shares his knowledge freely with all involved.

 

 

Paul  Newbery:

POSITION: Tandem Master / A.F.F Instructor / Instructor B / Photographer

FIRST JUMP: 1998.

NUMBER OF JUMPS:3000+

Over 14 years skydiving.

Paul has won medals in State competitions both in 4 way and 2 way formation skydiving.

His favourite pursuits in skydiving are 4 way formation, crew and wingsuiting. Paul's photography has won awards in national photography competitions. As a professional skydiver his greatest pleasure is sharing this amazing sport with all who participate.

Paul takes great pleasure in training students to become solo skydivers and sharing the experience of tandem skydiving with first time skydivers.

Paul is  President of the South Australian Sport Parachute Club.

 

 

   Garth Camac:

    POSITION: Tandem Master / A.F.F. Instructor / Instructor B / Photographer

    FIRST JUMP: 1995

                                    NUMBER OF JUMPS: 5000 +

                                    Over 17 years skydiving.

 

                                    Garth enjoys sharing first jumps with people and assisting students in                                                                                                             reaching their goals in skydiving.                  

                                   Garth is a pleasure to skydive and work with , he provides cheer and                                                                                                               entertainment for all involved.

 

 

Peter Dabinet:

POSITION: Tandem Master/ Instructor D / Photographer

FIRST JUMP: 1998

                           NUMBER OF JUMPS: 3000 +

                           Over 13 years in the sport.

 Peter has skydived in every state in Australia , a well respected tandem instructor he is  frequently employed by interstate dropzones. Peter has had oppurtunities to jump on beach sites in Western Australia , tropical  dropzones in Northern Territory and city sites in Hobart. 

Peter has recently taken his excellent canopy skills to another level with accreditation and purchase of a paramotor . On calm mornings you may see him flying over areas of the Adelaide Hills as he soaks up the stunning views from above.

Calm and quietly spoken Peter is an exteremly confident instructor and photographer who will make your skydive experience comfortable and worthwhile.

 

 Travis Naughton

  POSITION: Tandem Master / Instructor D / Photographer

  FIRST JUMP: 2004

  NUMBER OF JUMPS: 1000

 

Travis started jumping at the age of 20 chasing a childhood dream, he is now an extremely competent Tandem Instructor, Camera Flyer and Wingsuit Flyer.

Travis's skills in Wingsuiting are leading towards a new adventure in B.A.S.E. where all his skills will come into play. You will know you are in good hands when you are introduced to Travis as your tandem master.

 

 

Martin Truman:

POSITION: Tandem Master / A.F.F. Instructor / Instructor D / Photographer

FIRST JUMP: 1997

NUMBER OF JUMPS: 1500

15 years in the sport.

Martin's attraction to skydiving was a progression from a long list of active sports including gymnastics, water skiing and snow skiing. The club atmosphere and friendships are a welcome relief from the working week.

Martin is extremely professional in his approach to the training of students , both feefall and tandem and prides himself in excellent skydive photography.

Always wearing a smile Martin will make your skydive experience a pleasure.

                           

  Curtis Morton:

   POSITION: Tandem Master /A.F.F Instructor /Instructor B/Photographer

   FIRST JUMP: July 31st 1993

     NUMBER OF JUMPS: 7000+

      Over 18years in the sport.

 

 

Originally from the USA, Curtis did his first skydive to conquer his fear of heights and ever since his life has been dedicated to the sport. Curtis has now been jumping for 18 years and loves every moment of it, from the atmosphere of the drop zone to the lifestyle being a professional skydiver offers.  Curtis has won competitions for swoop and 4way relative work. He has taught 1000's of students to skydive and enjoys the photography work involved in skydiving. Curtis's photo's have been published world wide and  have made the cover of numerous skydiving magazines.  

 


Julian Merendez: 

POSITION: Parachute Inspection and Packing.

FIRST JUMP: 1994

Over 18 years in the sport!

Julian has won medals for formation skydiving and participated in the South Australian state formation record . He  has been involved in numerous demonstration skydives and continues to be an active skydiver in S.A.

Julian has a well respected reputation as a professional packer of main parachutes . Capable of packing up to 40+ tandem parachutes a day he is a crucial member of our team.

With the ability to notice the smallest of equipment issues before they become a problem malfunctions are an extremely rare occurrence.

When Julian is packing for SA Skydive we don our rigs with the utmost confidence.

 

 

Chris Mann:

POSITION: DROP ZONE MANAGER

Chris plays a crucial role in the operation, he does everything possible to keep the airfield running smoothly. Chris has a diverse range of skills ranging from aircraft mechanic to accounting.  

Chris is at the airfield every weekend from dawn till dusk to ensure a smooth operation. During the week Chris will work tirelessly to sort out paperwork, make sure aircraft are in good order and ensure the airfield is in order for the following weekend.

 

 

 

Vernon Wells:

POSITION:A.F.F. Instructor/ Photographer / Instructor B 

First Jump: 1994.

                               Number of jumps: 5000.

                               Over 18 years in the sport.

Erika  Wiszniewski:


POSITION: Drop Zone catering manager

Erika makes the most delicious food at the Drop Zone, to feed all of our hungry students and staff. She always makes sure we have our lunch in the weekends (as most of us tend to forget about eating on the busier days).

Erika can cater for everyone that comes out to the drop zone, she has a range of different foods that she offers on her delicious but healthy menu.

  Sandwiches, foccacia's, hot chips, milkshakes, muffins and coffee are just a few things on her exceedingly appetizing menu.
